Suddenly feel like blogging again..

It has been a while since I last blogged. Haven't really felt like blogging but I guess I'll always keep this blog as it's really nice to read about previous incidents which I may have forgotten with time and how I felt about those incidents then.

I got a sudden urge to read my blog today and after reading, I got another urge to write something on the blog.

This year is almost nearing the end and I have to say that this year is probably one of the most uneventful years for me personally, although lots of stuff happened to the people around me. In a sense, I felt as if I have wasted this year except for the fact that my relationship with the ginggang gals has gotten stronger than ever - the only reason that I feel that this year is worth something.

But I guess this is year where I learnt all about patience - to wait till the time is ripe for me to move on to the next stage in my life. It has been a long wait and it still is. Although there are so many uncontrollable factors, and a lack of commitment and urgency on my part to be honest, I am glad that I have take some small steps towards realising my goal.

I realise that I may not be able to achieve my goal and my confidence is not at its highest after all these years of working, but it's really heartening and encouraging when you have a clear aim of what you want to do going forward. I hope there's a miracle for me, although just waiting for a miracle is stupid. But I can always hope and dream, can't I?

Realisation of a lost cause

It has been so long that I've blogged that I can't even remember when I wrote the last entry and what I wrote abt. In any case, since it's the last day of the year, I thought it'll be good to write down some of my thoughts...

I'm really blessed and fortunate to have many good friends who make the effort to celebrate my bday with me, some even went out of their way to specially plan surprises for me. And I truly appreciate all these efforts. Of cos, judging how gd a friend is (shd we even be judging our friends? haha) by this seems superficial but it's always nice when friends make the effort to remember special occasions and make these occasions even more special for you. In contrast, my family did nothing,.. my mum went for a trip, my sis expected me to be on stand-by for her to take me out for a meal, my dad just mentioned my bday in passing... initially my mum even expected me to plan the dinner myself, like ask everyone for their available dates and booked the restnt myself... what? Am i supposed to even pay for the meal myself? I don't know, am I expecting too much? Maybe they think I'm too old for such stuff? Perhaps so, but I'm also still shallow enough to want all these superficial things even at the grand old age of 28 haha!

I think this year is ending on a poor note for me... i have come to realise many things, my inadequacies being one of them. I'm just not gd enough which is why I'm now being left behind. It's a sad realisation to make on the last day of the month and prob people will expect a new year resolution from me now to work harder for the new year and achieve great things but no. I seriously don't see how I can improve things tremendously in the following year, it would probably just go downhill from here - a pessimistic end to a year and a pessimistic start to another. Whatever. I'm giving up.

It's only when I looked at my blog that I realised that i've not written anything for more than 4 mths! And my aim was to write at least once a mth!

Anyways, busy doing research for my London/Paris trip now! First time in Europe... can't wait!

Boys Over Flowers days are over.

'Boys Over Flowers' last episode aired yesterday...

No more waiting for the twice-weekly episodes...

No more keeping up with BOF forum for the latest news on BOF...

No more searching on Youtube for the latest previews of BOF...

I didn't realise how much I look forward to watching it every week when I find that it's not one of those shows that want to watch over and over again and where there's someone I really in the cast (although I think Kim Hyun Joong is quite cute, starting from his WGM days. Weird how I always like the guy who plays Hanazawa Rui character in all Hana Yori Dango adaptations).

Mo Nv De Tiao Jian

It's has been a rather long time since I last blogged and it took me a while to think of the title for this entry since there's so much that I wanted to write on. Ironical as the main reason I didn't blog for so long was bcos there isn't anything I feel like blogging on and now that I'm starting this entry, there's so much going on in my head.

Michelle and Priscilla just returned to Sydney after spending more than 2 weeks in Singapore. I was able to meet up with them a few times which was great since we hardly get to see one another with us living in two different countries. Michelle has always been one of my best friends in sec sch, for without her my sec sch life would be horrible, especially the first two years. When she first went to Sydney, there were a few years when we totally didn't keep in touch but old friends being old friends, when we meet each other again, it still feels the same.

Before she left on Sunday, all of us went for karaoke together. It was really fun (as usual of cos since I love karaoke)! We sang alot of songs together and screamed alot too! But now that I hardly get up to date with Chinese pop, I don't really know so many new Chinese songs haha.

Min sang Utada Hikaru's First Love. It brought back alot of memories - I remembered that it was the theme song of 'Mo Nv De Tiao Jian' (can't remember the English name) and this drama together with 'Teasing Kiss' and 'God! Please Give Me More Time' (I'm not sure if these are the correct English names for these shows) are my favourite Japanese dramas of all time. It has been like ten years since the shows came out and then it was the peak of Jap dramas. I was waiting to go to university after 'A' levels and that period was probably the most carefree period of my life. And I really missed that.

These days, with the penetration of the Korean dramas, there seem to be less interest in Japanese dramas . But actually, in my opinion, the script and direction for Japanese dramas are the best (compared to Korean and Taiwanese shows) - they are fast-paced and yet packed with enough details for the viewers to know what's going on. That said, Korean dramas have been improving a lot too - now they are less draggy although they still tend to have lots of twists and melodrama. Taiwanese dramas too have been getting better.

I managed to find the videos of 'Mo Nv De Tiao Jian' and I'm going to watch it again. In rememberance of my early carefree days.

Korean Pop Concert 2008

Actually I didn't know any of the artistes who will be performing at the concert on 4 Nov 08 except Andy but the fact that he was there was gd enough for me. So I went. And I thoroughly enjoyed myself.

Love V.O.S... their songs are so nice! For me, they were the highlight of the concert. Of course, Andy, Jewelry and Wonder Girls were great as well. 'Nobody' just kept going on and on in my head after the concert!

This just reinforce my desire to go to Korea, which is their aim of organising the concert (promoting Korea tourism) haha. Really hope to be able to go next yr!Maybe I'll be able to meet a guy like Gong Yoo in Coffee Prince! Hee~

I'm a black-haired gal again!

    I'm a black-haired gal again! A blue-black-haired gal to be exact. Haha!

Got a real shock when I first saw my black hair in the mirror. And I was constantly 'shocked' again when I look into the mirror for the next few days.

I think it has been ages since I've had black hair since I always colour my hair so it took me a while to get used to it. I just hope that I won't get sick of it too quickly bcos my hair stylist told me that it'll be difficult to lighten it once I colour it black.

But I kinda like it. It's a nice change. =P

A side note...

I WON MORE THAN $50 IN MAHJONG LAST NIGHT!

I must put this in writing since my mum always says that I lose money in mahjong sessions.

Beijing Olympics 2008

I may not be a China national but as a Chinese, I'm proud of the way China has hosted and organised the Games. The Opening Ceremony was fantastic and grandeur of it was unimaginable; the Closing Ceremony (thought Jay Chou and Jolin Tsai were going to be performing but didn't see them!!) was ok but not as great as the Opening one. Perhaps my expectations have increased after watching the Opening. Nonetheless, I've enjoyed this Games - never followed the Olympics as much as I had for this one.

In particular, swimming and gymnastics were really exciting! Phelps was so fast and dominant but it would be more exciting if for once, someone actually beat him for gold. But I guess he's just too good. Nastia Liukin was just so graceful and elegant... It was really very touching but you see how the athletes' were overwelmed by emotion and tears threatening to fall as their countries' flags were raised and their national anthems sang.

Well let's see what London can come up with for the Opening Ceremony in 2012 - their 8-min promo was quite good too!

What have I been doing?

Haven't been updating my blog bcos I was just busy with work. Other than that, my life's quite a bore actually since I came back from Japan. Not much worth mentioning....

Just a few movies keeping me occupied besides work - Untraceable, Dark Knight, Red Cliff, Lust Caution, Sex and the City, Kungfu Panda. All these movies were pretty gd; I guess there are many fantastic movies out this yr and I'm sure I've still missed a few gd ones along the way.

Untraceable was scary and one of the most disturbing movies I've watched so far, which probably isn't saying much since I don't really watch horror films but not only are some of the scenes rather gruesome, the idea behind the movie is also equally disturbing.

Now just waiting for Red Cliff 2, Mummy 3 and the Meteor Garden movies!

On a side note, I really enjoyed Wendy's bday celebration. It was really fun to have a big grp of friends at a ktv session although I didn't get to sing that much. Maybe I shd always start with Mayday's songs now haha!
